Local UCU structures

UCU Glasgow, just like UCU nationally, is a democratic member-led organisation. Decisions about strategy, policy and direction are being taken by members in General Meetings. Every year at our AGM (around May or June), members elect a Committee for the coming academic year. The Committee meets regularly and organises campaigns and UCU Glasgow work.

Every College, including University Services, has two representatives on the Committee. You can find the full list of Committee members here. There are some vacancies on the committee:

  • Health & Safety Rep
  • Communications Rep

  • Technical & Specialist Rep

At the AGM, the members also elect a number of Branch Officers, who are in charge of running the day to day business of UCU Glasgow, and attend most meetings with the University. Branch Officers include the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Organising Officer. You can find contact details for them here. 

Every school / subject / local area should have at least one local UCU area contact as well, and you can find a full list here. If there are no contacts for your school or subject, and you’re interested in getting involved, please email ucug@glasgow.ac.uk as well.
