Remit:
- Identify the makeup of, and issues of concern for UofG’s LGBTQ+ communities.
- Determine ways to best address those issues and take concrete action on these.
- Provide a voice for LGBTQ+ concerns on the Branch Committee and through the Branch, to UCU Scotland and UCU UK.
- Take on actions as requested by the Branch in the LGBTQ+ space.
- Provide a safe, welcoming, and responsive space for UofG’s eligible LGBTQ+ workers to engage with UCU.
- Encourage eligible LGBTQ+ workers at UofG to join UCU and become active in our union locally and more broadly.
- Support and engage with our Branch Equalities Subcommittee and the JULC Equalities Forum.
- Offer support and advice to LGBTQ+ workers on problems in their workplace, and to case workers from the Branch dealing with those issues.
- Provide education and awareness raising more broadly across the entire UofG community about current LGBTQ+ issues and how UCU addresses these.
